General Terms & Conditions
Please note that our General Terms and Conditions apply for all educational programmes managed by Solvay Lifelong Learning ASBL. Programme-specific Terms and Conditions complement or override the general terms and conditions.
General T&C
Services related to tuition fees include:
-
Participation in the courses of the programme in which you are enrolled (and course exams, if any);
-
Course material and access to an online educational platform;
-
Internet access at the institution's premises;
-
If provided for in the programme in which you are enrolled, breakfast, coffee breaks and lunches (please liaise with your Solvay Lifelong Learning point of contact);
-
For the Advanced Masters, Accelerated Management Programme, Executive Master of Management, Executive MBA, registration fees to the Free University of Brussels ULB and student insurance
Payment deadlines
If fee payments are not received by the dates required and no prior arrangements have been made with the programme manager, the participant will receive one single warning regarding the pending payment. If failing to comply by the deadline in the warning, participation in the programme will be immediately suspended and will not receive the final certificate.
Cancellation request
Requests to unsubscribe from the programme must be sent in writing. . Based on the date of the notification, the following penalties will be applied:

For the Accelerated Management Programme and MBA, the deposit is not refundable would the client decide to cancel its participation;

Less than 30 days before the start of the programme: an administrative fee can be charged (deductible in case of enrolment in the following year);
-
After the start of the programme, enrolment fees must be paid in full and no refund is possible.
Exclusion
Solvay Lifelong Learning reserves the right to exclude the participant before the end of the programme:
-
if the participant behaves in a manner detrimental to the interests of the Solvay Brussels School-EM, ULB;
-
if the participant has not paid the course fees before the required dates (see payment deadlines).
In these cases, the participant will be liable for the full amount of the programme fee.
Force majeure and COVID-19
The Solvay Lifelong Learning (the service provider) is not responsible for delays in the fulfilment or non-fulfilment of his obligations arising from and without limitation, an act of God, governmental act, war, fire, flood, explosion or civil commotion ("Force Majeure Event") and other cases of events outside the reasonable control of the Service Provider, affecting the Service Provider, the Client or third parties.
Furthermore, in case of force majeure, the service provider will not proceed to any reduction/discount and/or refund of the agreed tuition fee with the client.
Important: The evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic and the safety measures taken by the federal government and/or the university authorities may unexpectedly impact the organisation of our training activity. Be advised that we reserve the right to postpone the start date, cancel or digitally deliver this training depending on the circumstances, and we will communicate such changes to you as soon as possible.
Discounts
Discounts are offered across programmes and enrollment terms. The applicability of the discounts are subject to change at the sole discretion of Solvay Lifelong Learning. The below clauses regulates the discount schemes:- Alumni Discount: -10% extended to prospective lifelong learners who have completed a programme at the Solvay Lifelong Learning (SLL), Solvay Brussels School (SBS), Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). This discount is cumulable with another discount unless dictated otherwise.
- Staff Member Discount: -15% extended to staff members of the Solvay Lifelong Learning (SLL), Solvay Brussels School (SBS), Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). This discount is cumulable with another discount unless dictated otherwise.
- Other discounts: for specific terms & conditions of other discounts, please refer yourself to the marketing materials associated or contact the admission person in charge of the programme concerned.
The prospective lifelong learner is the sole responsible for informing themselves of any discounts applicable as well as inquiring about their application accordingly.
Privacy Policy
Solvay Lifelong Learning will only use your personal invoicing information to manage your participant account and to provide the products and services you requested from us.

By submitting your financial information, you officially register and commit to following the educational programme and accept all the Terms and Conditions, general and specific to the educational programme.

By submitting the financial form, you officially register and commit to the programme. In case you decide to withdraw your registration, please notify your cancellation in writing. Based on the date of the notification, the following penalties will apply:

3 months before the kick-off of the programme: the deposit and any additional payment will be reimbursed;
-
Less than 3 months before the kick-off: the deposit will not be reimbursed. If the registration is postponed to the following year, such amount will be reported;
-
After the kick-off: full registration fees are due (with the possibility to postpone the participation one year later with no additional fees).
NOTE: Programme rules and extended information are available in the Students Handbook, and distributed to the participants at the kick-off of the programme.
Non-completion of the programme during the academic year for which you are enrolled:
The academic year begins on September 1 and ends on September 30 of the following year.
In the event that a student enrolled in the Advanced Master's programme does not obtain all of the credits required for certification within the academic year for which he or she is enrolled in the program, he or she may, if desired, enrol in the following academic year to complete the courses that were not passed, and/or the internship, and/or the business field project that was not validated.
Re-enrollment for the following academic year incurs a re-enrollment fee of €500 for each course that must be validated. The internship and the business field project are considered on par with a course.

After the programme starts: The deposit and full registration fees are due (with the possibility to postpone the participation one year later with no additional fees).

Services related to tuition fees include, above those stated in the general terms and conditions:

Participation in group discussions, study cases, residential seminars, Business Plan coaching and knowledge test in finance;

Course materials;
-
Access card for university premises;
-
ULB Student Card;
-
An email address and access to the productivity suite;
-
Internet access at the institution's premises.
Participants are expected to attend all scheduled courses and to actively participate in all group and individual work required during the course.
Solvay Lifelong Learning reserves the right not to certify the participant if he/she does not comply with the following rules of success of the programme:

Attendance at the full programme, i.e. a minimum of 85% attendance at the three seminars, group preparations and presentations on Thursday evenings, case animations on Saturday mornings, 3 coaching sessions related to the Business Plan in accordance with the attendance rules set by the programme administration;

The submission of a minimum of 85% of the individual preparations;
-
The achievement of a minimum of 10 out of 20 for the joint writing of the group work and the business plan developed and presented in the group.
In the event of a force majeure, Solvay Lifelong Learning can decide to issue a refund of up to €200 per seminar in return for not holding the residential aspect of the seminars.

Learning Delay
In case of a learning delay, the Board of Examiners can grant a maximum of 1 additional academic year to complete the programme. This extension of learning is subject to a fee of 1,500EUR.
