The labour market as well as the business environment have seen major transformations. How can one stay atop of these challenges, and be sure to excel in such uncertain times? Arnaud Devleeschauwer, Academic Director of the Advanced Master in Innovation & Strategic Management, and alumni tell us from experience.
In recent years, it has become more and more evident that rapid socio-economic, environmental, and technological changes have amounted to a complete transformation of the labour market. While the current systems in place seem ill-suited to the structural changes occurring at an increasing pace, innovation becomes the key factor in keeping up with these changes and avoiding obsolescence.
This means that, as businesses and the market are settling into the new normal, new and advanced skills are imperative for managers and entrepreneurs.
Staying ahead of the curve
The Academic Director of one of our Advanced Masters, Arnaud Devleeschauwer, who is also Strategy Manager at ENGIE, spoke to us about the changes observed in his work in recent years and how he prepares his students to face new challenges:
“As a teacher within AMISM, I encourage my students to think, to analyse, to decide and to act as if they were active members of my team at work. In the end, I want to make sure that they'll be able to tackle complex business issues from the very first day.”
