Brussels: an incredible cosmopolitan environment
Ranked #2nd coolest neighbourhood in Europe by the Guardian!
Triple capital of Europe, Belgium and the Flanders region, Brussels is host to both NATO and the EU headquarters, European base for a large number of international corporations (more than a 1.000 from the United States only), welcoming home for a population of some 300.000 expats, incredibly cosmopolitan… Yet Brussels remains a very relaxed and laid-back town which manages to keep its human scale.
Aline Paris Sekiguchi, participant in the AM in Innovation & Strategic Management, managed to get a 6 month-internship at L'Oréal Benelux even before she graduated.
"The advanced master helped me acquire solid knowledge on corporate strategy and I also feel that I have now a helicopter view on different subjects. The last 6 weeks of the programme, we had to work on a field project. I was involved in a project within Procter & Gamble. I was amazed to see that I was actually putting in practice everything I learned during the previous months."
Sotirios Marinis, participant in the AM in Financial Markets, secured a place in the Market Infrastructures & Payments team at the European Central Bank even before he graduated.
"The reputation of the university, the rigorousness of the programme, the knowledge acquired and the huge support I received from both the staff and the academic faculty made it possible for me to rise to the occasion and successfully tackle this new challenge in my professional life."
Emilie Delfosse, participant in the AM in Financial Markets secured a job as Project Officer at Euroclear Bank even before she graduated.
“As students of Solvay, we have the chance to meet wonderful and very experienced teachers. Valérie Urbain (CEO of Euroclear) was one of them. As I was really interested both in the company and her specific field, Valérie invited me to have a look at the job opportunities at Euroclear and gave me the contact details of the HR department. Three months later, I was able to join the Euroclear family. [...] The programme gives you a great overview and comprehension of the key elements and activities of the Financial Markets."
Vadim Van Tomme, participant in the AM in Innovation & Strategic Management, secured a job as Innovation Enabler at The Factory (a startup within Ernst & Young) even before he graduated.
"Since the Academic Director of the advanced master I follow at Solvay Brussels School works at Ernst & Young, as the ambassador of innovation, I asked him if he could help me with an introduction. He was more than willing to do so, I successfully passed the recruitment process and I managed to get the job I wanted!
Solvay has been the step-up I needed in my career. I acquired hard and soft skills with the help of the hands-on classes that we had, expanded my network and made friends for life."
