Solvay Brussels School is proud and excited about our partnership with Perlego, one of the world's largest online subscription services for educational books, online textbooks, and additional reading materials.

Aiming to make educational material universally accessible and affordable, Perlego is an online library that gives students - and learners of any kind - unlimited access to over 600,000 professional and academic titles in all traditional areas of education including economics, art, psychology, medicine, technology, and engineering, as well as social sciences. And of course, a variety of languages is supported as well. Founded in January 2017 in London, Perlego now works with over 3,000 of the world's leading publishers.

Another powerful tool for our students' learning journey

Our school is extremely pleased to make this great platform available to our students and faculty. At the moment, the Advanced Masters, Executive MBA, Accelerated Management and Executive Master in Management programmes have all joined this initiative - and our wish is to expand it to several more programmes in the future.

This means that the students who are enrolled in any of the aforementioned programmes can benefit from Perlego's vast library free of charge, throughout their studies. The way it works is simple - look for the book you need, open it, and start reading away! One can also benefit from the handy built-in tools designed to make studying easier, such as one-click referencing, highlighting and saving notes, searching within the book, as well as options to personalise one's reader.

Through Perlego's impressive potential, Solvay LifeLong Learning takes another decisive step towards our digital transformation while further reinforcing our goal of sustainable development.

Yvan Belmonte, Project Manager, adds:

"When it comes to books, I am very conservative. I like paper, I had already tried several platforms from different publishers using various technologies without ever being totally convinced.

However, after using Perlego I changed my mind.

The Internet gives us access to infinite knowledge, but it is not always reliable, or it comes to us in a haphazard way that is difficult to utilise in the educational environment.

Perlego is a real juncture in education, the platform is not just user friendly - it is rich in content and variety. In our goal of sustainable development and digital transformation, it is a real milestone.

During the difficult period of Covid-19, when it was impossible for our participants to attend face-to-face classes and access the campus and the library, the digital approach proved to be a major asset, allowing our students to enjoy a continuous and uninterrupted digital learning experience while we were closed.

This period forced us to reinvent ourselves by taking a technological leap of 3 years in the space of 6 months.

We are grateful for the day-to-day help of the Perlego team, and we would like to make special mention of Ryan Borgesius and Alberta Fumagalli. They made the integration, commissioning and implementation complete, simple, and seamless.
